A few shots from a furry family session at Walnut Creek Park with my human friends, Dawn and Kevin. I don’t often have more than one pet in front of my camera, so I learned a lot from this particular shoot! Major takeaways: 1) Walnut Creek Park is an awesome location, even post-rockslide; 2) Dogs and two-year-olds have very similar attention spans; and 3) When photographing pups, bring an extra pair of hands.. and treats. Lots of them.

Megan and Scott are always so relaxed and fun. Oh, and they have stunningly beautiful children, which doesn’t hurt either.

The Dodd family session was emotional experience. (Especially for Grace, because being a toddler is tough sometimes!) But what made this session particularly special was baby Hamilton, recently recovered from a long and worrisome stay at Dell Children’s Hospital. I was honored to spend an evening with this sweet family in celebration of their two beautiful and healthy children.

A few weekends ago I had portrait sessions with two beautiful couples, both of whom brought along their adorable pups. Photographing two people in love is a powerful experience on its own; toss in an adored animal and it’s a whole new level of cute. (Particularly with those couples whose pets are their “furry children”– you know who you are.) So needless to say, pets are always a fun addition to my shoots, and these 2 dogs were no exception.
