Sally: A Songstress

Sally Nava is, in a word, delightful..ly delightful. Ok, two words… that are redundant… but that’s how much I adore this woman.  Sweetly humble, smart as a whip, and oh, she can sing, too.  The girl even brought me a pair of fabulous vintage sunglasses as a thank you for our little portrait sesh.  It doesn’t get more thoughtful than that!:)

So, this is my dear friend Sally, and you can see those pretty green eyes in person at her upcoming show on February 24th.

Lovely portraits! What a great smile she has. I’m jealous of that red hair too. :)

Austin Dance Works

Waking a teenage girl up at 7 AM is hard. I know, I was one.  But when I met the Austin Dance Works dancers from Dancers Workshop on the roof of an Austin highrise, they were full of energy and laughter, and ready to work! It was kind of adorable.  The girls struck beautiful poses and did some incredible jumps (while their directors laughed at me when I tried to count out “1…2…3″ instead of  ”5, 6, 7, 8!”).  The talented young ladies were so much fun to work with and completely professional… even when a group of rogue gorillas escaped their run on Lamar to freak us out.:)

The Haywoods | Austin Family Photography

This post is a tad late, (let’s just say some of these photos have already appeared in my mailbox in Christmas card form!) but I had to share, as the Haywoods have become one of my favorite families to photograph.  Megan and Scott are always so relaxed and fun. Oh, and they have stunningly beautiful children, which doesn’t hurt either.:)

Sara & Jackie | Houston Wedding Photography

Sara and Jackie exchanged vows under the trees at La Tranquila Ranch this fall. One of my favorite moments of their wedding was seeing Jackie’s face when Sara walked down the petal-strewn aisle. Not once did they break their gaze, eyes filled with joy and hope. Given one word to describe their wedding, I would say “cheerful”. They never stopped smiling and laughing, and I’m certain that will continue for years to come.
